Objective The objective of this course is to provide the faculty members and research students (M.Tech. and Ph.D.) of Electrical Engineering discipline an exposure of the latest developments and transformations in the power and energy sector and thereby facilitate their research in the cutting edge technologies. Content The workshop will be covering the following topics: a) Introductory idea about smart grid and integration of distributed energy resources b) Fundamentals of voltage-source converters and their applications in integration of distributed resources c) Basic idea on wind power and its integration (Induction generator and DFIG based wind energy conversion systems) d) Basic idea of plug-in electric vehicles and their integration in a smart grid framework
